The Sex Offender Unit is a compliance unit responsible for monitoring and enforcing compliance with state sex offender registration laws. This unit works to ensure that registered offenders residing or working within the city meet all reporting, residency, and notification requirements.
Unit personnel conduct regular address verifications, compliance checks, and follow-up investigations when violations are identified. The unit works closely with Patrol, Investigations, probation and parole, and other criminal justice partners to address non-compliance and protect the community.
