Lake Frierson State Park   - Join the park interpreter on a hike to listen for nature's drumming line. Discover the woodpeckers of Lake Frierson State Park that drum to a beat of their own and try your hand at identifying these birds by sound. Tennis shoes or hiking boots are recommended for an easy hike along the .5-mile Dogwood Lane Trail. Meeting Place: Visitor Center Parking Lot 

Lake Frierson State Park - Ouch! Have you ever walked barefoot on the spiky gumball of a sweetgum tree? Sweetgums are sometimes given a bad rap, but these trees have an amazing story to tell. Join the park interpreter to learn about the many uses of the sweetgum tree. Then stick around to make your own unique bouquet for that special someone. Meeting Place: Day Use Area by Playground
